FAQ

How do I set a target margin?

Margin here means the share of the sale price you keep after your costs (materials, labor, overhead) and every Etsy fee. 30% is a common starting point for handmade sellers — raise it if you want more room, lower it if you're pricing to compete.

Does this include my Etsy fees?

Yes — the suggested price already accounts for the $0.20 listing renewal, 6.5% transaction fee on item, shipping and gift wrap, payment processing, Offsite Ads (if toggled), and any regulatory operating fee for your country, all at the schedule shown above (as of 2026-07-19).

Is this price advice?

No — it's an estimate from Etsy's published fee schedule and the costs you enter. It doesn't know your competitors, your customers' willingness to pay, or discounts and refunds. Use it as a cost-covering floor, not a final answer.

Why does the price change when I toggle Offsite Ads?

Offsite Ads takes 12–15% of the order total on attributed orders, capped at $100. Since that fee scales with price, the calculator raises the suggested price slightly so your target margin still holds after the ad fee comes out.
