How much does Etsy take from a sale?

For a typical US sale it works out to roughly 9–13% before ads: $0.20 listing renewal + 6.5% transaction fee on item, shipping and gift wrap + 3% + $0.25 payment processing. Offsite Ads add 12–15% on attributed orders (fee schedule as of 2026-07-19).

Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?

Yes — the 6.5% transaction fee applies to shipping and gift wrap, not just the item price, and payment processing is charged on the whole order total.

What is the Etsy Offsite Ads fee?

15% of the order total if your shop made under $10,000 in the trailing 365 days (participation optional), 12% if over (participation mandatory), capped at $100 per order.

Is this calculator exact?

It estimates from Etsy's published schedule (as of 2026-07-19). Refunds, currency conversion, fee VAT, and your Etsy Ads campaigns change the real number — which is why foliascore reads the actual fees from your shop's ledger instead of estimating.

Does buying more than one item cost extra listing fees?

Yes — Etsy charges the $0.20 listing renewal once per quantity sold in an order, so five of the same item in one order is $1.00 in listing fees, not $0.20.

Do coupons change the fees?

A seller sale or coupon lowers the item price the buyer pays, so the 6.5% transaction fee is charged on that lower amount. Etsy coupons don't discount shipping, so shipping fees don't change.

What about US sales tax?

Etsy computes payment processing on the total including marketplace-collected sales tax, so your real processing fee runs slightly higher on taxed orders than this tax-free estimate shows.
