Bring your Etsy shop in. The fastest way is to import your Etsy CSVs (Shop Manager → Settings → Options → Download Data). The Order Items CSV populates orders and revenue; the Monthly Statement CSV fills in the itemized fees (buyer fees, processing, ads, refunds, VAT). Early direct-connect shops can sync from Etsy automatically instead — ask us. Either way, the only other manual entry is expenses from outside your shop — supplies, packaging, market fees. Logging those expenses takes a few clicks a week.

You authorise foliascore in Etsy's consent screen. foliascore only reads your orders, listings, and ad spend. foliascore never writes back to your Etsy shop, and never changes your prices, listing content, inventory quantities, or orders. Revoke access from inside your Etsy account anytime.

We pull data as far back as your CSVs go. Import a full year of Order Items for your whole sales history, or just the months you need. For direct-connect shops, the first sync covers the last 90 days, then new orders sync automatically. One caveat applies: Etsy's CSV exports can lag your most recent orders a little. If a recent order isn't showing, re-download and re-import the file in a day or two.

Either option works. CSV import is the main way most sellers bring their shop in, and it's supported, not a stopgap. Etsy's API returns no fees, so a CSV import (Order Items + Monthly Statement) gives the most complete fee detail: buyer fees, processing, ads, refunds, and the four-way VAT split, all itemized. Direct Etsy sync is available to a limited number of shops right now. Even with sync, statement-only detail like the VAT split needs a statement CSV upload.

Yes — you can export your data to CSV, PDF, and Google Sheets, anytime, with no lock-in. A "delete everything" button wipes your account if you want.

No. Most beginner Etsy sellers don't have a business bank account, and we don't require one. Log non-Etsy expenses manually — each entry takes seconds — or upload a CSV statement if you have one.

Most beginner Etsy sellers mix personal and business spending on one card. Importing 200 transactions to triage 195 personal transactions is worse than typing the 5 business transactions from memory. We default to fast manual entry plus recurring templates.

No — we hand your accountant ready-to-use numbers. Tax-ready P&L exports are on the roadmap for the paid tier. Take the export to your accountant or paste it into TurboTax / your local equivalent.

You don't need Xero or QuickBooks to use foliascore. If your accountant uses one of those tools, GL-mapped journal exports are on the future roadmap.

Stock goes down when you sell on Etsy and goes up when you receive supplies. Everything defaults to "pooled" — switch a material to "tracked" only when it's expensive enough to count individually.

Yes — an opt-in "I make from materials" toggle turns on the materials catalogue and recipes. The toggle is off by default because most shops get accurate profit numbers from a flat per-product cost.

Not yet. We use flat recipes plus pooled overhead, which covers most makers. Nested BOM is on the long-term roadmap.
